A couple of months ago YouTuber Lisette Crafts and Tells posted a video detailing how she wants to work through the older diamond paintings in her stash. The premise is that all of the diamond painting companies have updated their canvases quite a bit in the last couple of years and as diamond painters, if we have only been working on newer updated pieces, we should work through our older ones lest we be frustrated by their lack of upgrades and she is completely right! I just finished Plumeria which was an older version and although it was still enjoyable to work on, I did notice that the grid field was not that tight and it was hard to keep my drills from being spaced too far apart leaving gaps. I also love the concept of using what we have before buying new pieces to work on. I work hard to do this with my groceries and was eager to apply this to my crafting work as well to cut down on unnecessary spending and to be more efficient with resources.

I decided for 2026 to focus on 10 of my older paintings. My first order was from 2023 and I have basically two groups of diamond paintings in my stash. The first is pieces I bought in 2023 and early 2024 of which some were older pieces at the time all with the older style sticker sheets and boxes and the second is pieces I bought more recently towards the end of 2025 with the one exception of Joyful Journey by Becca Tindol that I bought in early 2025 and is the only piece I bought during a roughly 18 month period of not spending money on diamond paintings. I have completed the first ever diamond painting I purchased which is Joyous Ladies by Sharon Cummings but I also want to complete most of the other “first” paintings I bought.
Note: all of my first 8 paintings are squares.
The first painting on my list is Country Blessings by Chuck Pinson. This one is 36.6 x 27.6 inches with 104,813 total drills. It was part of the same first order with Joyous Ladies and is pretty big! I am super excited to start this one in January after I finish Witch Kitty Brew. It has 66 colors including 3 ABs and should fit in the case I am using for Witch Kitty Brew.
Kittens and Fish Tank by Irina Garmashova-Cawton was part of my second Diamond Art Club order and is I believe the only piece in my list that is still available on the website. (Linked here) It is huge and if I had a most intimidating list of diamond paintings this would be on it for sure! It finishes at 38.6 x 27.6 inches with 110,433 diamonds and 55 colors including 5 ABs.
In the same order as Kittens and Fish Tank I also bought Private Collection by Julie Filipenko which has 62 colors including 2 ABs and 68,121 drills total. It finishes at 25.6 x 25.6 inches and is the smallest piece on my list. This piece has so many things going on in it and I absolutely love it. It is one of my unicorns so I have been waiting to start it but it is time and I can’t wait to see how it finishes up!
Note: Another honorable mention from this order is Adaline by Myka Jelina which I may do as one of the two unfilled slots for this challenge as well.
Next up is Celebration of Spring by Auclair Studios and yes, I did fall for this AI in March of 2024 but I do love it and it is beautiful both on screen and in person. It is 92,133 drills and finishes at 25.6 x 34.7 inches and I have already opened this one up and done an unboxing on my Oscoey channel. I have several older mystery kits in my stash but the oldest one I believe is Mystery Kit #54 – Landscape (Nature) by D. “Rusty” Rust. I tried really hard not to find spoilers when I was looking for this graphic to put in here with the listing link (located here) but the picture showing the size is pretty obvious what is in one of the corners just from a quick glance so now I have a hint of what it might be. I want to get through all of my mystery kits so to avoid any accidental spoilers and will be working on them one by one. This one is 119,425 drills (one of my top three largest pieces!) and finishes at 41.7 x 27.6 inches with 55 colors including 1 AB. I am going to start it after I finish Mystery Kit No. 98 – Art by Julia, hopefully this month! Can I get through 12 Mystery Kits this year? We shall see!
Next up is Cupcake Bakery by Eduard/Art Beat Studio and I am pretty sure now that I look at it more closely that it is AI but I did not realize that when I bought it. I don’t even think I saw the dog right in the middle, completely out of place or it has been so long since I looked at this one that I forgot about that. Nevertheless I am looking forward to this one as well as it has some great colors and lots of little hidden details to find! With 63 colors including 4 ABs for a total of 110,433 diamonds this piece finishes at 38.6. x 27.6 inches.
Breakfast Nook by Abraham Hunter is the cutest! I love chipmunks and this painting is beautifully done. This one has 68,320 diamonds with 62 colors along with 2 ABs and 2 Fairy Dust drills. It finishes at 30 x 22 inches and is a smaller painting for this challenge among giants! I almost didn’t put this one in the challenge because I don’t feel ready to work on it so I may end up swapping it out for another one but I may feel differently in a few months so we shall see.
Painting number 8 is Christmas Eve at the Workshop by Dakota Daetwiler. I almost started this one last December but ended up waiting because I didn’t finish Witch Kitty Brew in time. I will hold of on starting this one until next fall so I can complete it closer to Christmas. I love all of the details in this one! This one is still available on the website but it is currently out of stock. (Listing here) 99,089 diamonds make up this piece with 5 colors, 5 ABs, 2 Fairy Dusts, 1 Iridescent and 1 Special diamond which makes me very excited to see how sparkly it will be! this finishes at 34.7 x 27.6 inches and is chuck full of details.
If you are counting we are at 8 total pieces chosen so far. I want to complete at least 10 of my older kits this year but also wanted to leave it a bit open as to the last two for flexibility. Technically Literate Dragon is also an older kit I need to work on so I may just finish that one for 2026 as well as Easter Sunday and count both of those in my total. Ideally I will get through at least four mystery kits this year and I do have about that many older ones as well so it will be interesting to see where I end up at the end of the year with my older pieces. I would love to do a state of the stash video towards the end of January once I have brought up the rest of my pieces to see exactly how many canvases I have total!
