The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods is a great quick read. It is a little bit of romance along with some sleuthing and slight magic that keeps up at a good pace with an interesting plot. I loved this book! I read it pretty quickly and it was a great summer read at the pool last summer. The story intertwines with multiple timelines focusing on two women, Opaline and Martha who are out to change their lives for the better.

Opaline is escaping the trap of  marriage to be an independent woman and Martha is escaping the throws of an abusive marriage all while the idea of bookshop lost to time eludes them. Both are in search of something that only this bookshop can provide. The bookshop reveals itself to those that will take care of it and the way the story unfolds is amazing and magical!

Martha’s life is made brighter by Henry who is in search of the fabled lost bookshop. His love story with Martha is a thing of beauty and very well written. All of the characters are very lovable in this book and I absolutely adore the cover art. I really don’t want to give too much away and honestly if you love to read or are into romantasy you should give this book a read because it was so well written!

I highly recommend this book to those that like romatasy with a little bit of mystery added in. It was an easy read and the story intertwines beautifully. I believe this book was given to me by my daughter for Christmas and I can tell it will be one that she can read as well. I will be reading this one again over the next summer and I noticed that there are more books by Evie Woods that I will have to check out.

As always, please try to find this book at the library or used bookshop. It was a national bestseller so I imagine there should be some copies lying around as people start to clean out their shelves. I have linked it below just in case you need to look it up on Amazon or if the fancy takes you and you can’t wait to scour the local bookstores!
